Salvation and
Backsliding
My name is Chris Ibe and I am a son of God. I received
Christ in April 2014, but stayed in a backslidden condition from June 2016 to
February 12, 2017. Even after sharing the gospel with many people, I lost
confidence in God and the Bible. I felt rejected. After this, I drifted
spiritually in the wrong direction. This is why it says in Jeremiah 17:9, who
can trust our hearts? Do not rely on your own understanding. Trust in what God
has to say about yourself. He says that you are not rejected as long as you accept
Jesus, you are loved, and he will help you.
The Sins of
lust
I became addicted to the sins of masturbation, lust, and
pornography. In 2 Timothy 2:22, it tells us to flee from youthful lusts. This
includes the sins I previously mentioned. For months, I had to battle through
the sins of lust. I would get burning sensations of lust that would lead to
masturbation. Through Jesus, the burning lust issue subsided, and I have been
free from the bondage of lust! John 8:36 says whoever the Son sets free is free
indeed.
Cursing
During the first semester of my Freshman year in
college, I would curse a lot out of frustration. I felt as if God did not
really care, so I was very carefree with how I spoke to myself and to God. I
lied and spoke negatively. It says in Ephesians 4:29 to not let any corrupt
word proceed out of your mouth. It is very unacceptable to say curse words
because in Matthew 12:36, it mentions that we will have to give an account of
every empty word we have spoken. According to Hebrews 10:31, it is a dreadful
thing to fall into the hands of the living God, so we must do our best to
remove sin out of our lives. If we do not, terrifying judgment awaits us.
Negative
emotions
Anxiety was something that gripped my soul for so long.
I felt as if my life was getting worse, and I felt as if there was no solution
to my problems. I would read the Bible every now and then, but I never
correctly applied the Scriptures to my life. I felt very rejected. After over 6
months I managed to begin to serve God again, and I felt more peace in life.
Philippians 4:7 declares that the peace of God that passes all understanding
shall guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Demonic
Beliefs
I had to overcome strange beliefs that hindered the way
I viewed life. Overall, I was under heavy demonic oppression and I was
constantly bothered every day. Ephesians 6:10 reminds us to be strong in the
Lord and his mighty power. Our enemy is not against flesh and blood, but
against Satan and his demons. Any time you get thoughts that do not align with
the Bible, those thoughts are demonic. This is a serious warning because if you
follow Satan and the forces of darkness you will not go to heaven. In Matthew
25:41, Jesus says “Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire
prepared for the devil and his angels.”

Information
Believe in the Gospel with all your heart. Turn away from your sinful
ways and have FAITH in Jesus! You must be born again! This is spiritual
rebirth! Receive the Holy Spirit! Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and ask
Him to come into your heart and life! The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
are ONE! This is the Godhead! Surrender your life to Jesus! OBEY Jesus not
Catholic doctrine or any manmade traditions not found in the Bible! Love
everyone! The pleasure of sin is temporary! Hell is forever!
